As an Engineering Manager, I have experience leading software development and infrastructure teams, establishing technical direction, improving engineering processes, and helping teams deliver reliable systems.

As a Software Engineer, my background includes desktop applications, web applications, backend services, and microservice-based architectures. I have extensive experience with database design and normalization, OLTP and OLAP systems, replication, and Change Data Capture (CDC).

I also have a strong focus on engineering practices that make complex systems easier to operate and evolve. I believe important architectural decisions should be explicit, documented, and reviewable, and I use Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to capture the reasoning behind significant technical decisions.

I enjoy working on difficult technical problems where scalability, performance, reliability, and architecture really matter - particularly when an existing platform needs to evolve without sacrificing its ability to support the business.
